Child Protection

The League’s Child Protection Officer is Sam Fox (click here for contact details).

The South East Essex Primary Mini Soccer League supports the Football Association’s policies on child protection which are to:

1.

provide a safe and enjoyable environment in which football is played

2.

develop a comprehensive and quality assured child protection training programme to meet the needs of all adults involved with young people in the game

3.

demonstrate best practice

4.

promote ethics and high standards throughout the game

Copies of the FA’s pack covering it’s policies and guidance can be obtained free of charge via The FA website (www.TheFA.com/goal) . The FA works closely with the NSPCC in framing it’s policies and practices involving Child Protection for young players and participants in the sport.

There is also a free 24 hour Helpline available to those with concerns over Child Protection issues - whether as Club Officials, Team Managers or Coaches and Assistants, Parents or Players. This is a free and confidential helpline.

It has come to the League’s attention that at a number of mini soccer venues there has been a man taking photographs of the children playing football who, when approached and asked for identification he cannot produce any and subsequently leaves.

This has occurred at various venues across our area. Any person taking photographs on behalf of a newspaper or approved organisation will, without exception, have identification and will normally wear it where it is clearly visible.

AS A MATTER OF COURTESY AND GOOD PRACTICE TEAM MANAGERS SHOULD OBTAIN THE PERMISSION OF ALL PARENTS PRESENT AT A MATCH BEFORE ALLOWING ANY PARENT, SUPPORTER OR TEAM OFFICIAL TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS OR VIDEO RECORDINGS OF ANY GAME.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT TEAM MANAGERS AND CLUB OFFICIALS ARE MADE AWARE OF THIS AND REMAIN VIGILANT IN THE INTEREST OF PROTECTING ALL CHILDREN INVOLVED IN MINI SOCCER.
